Peter Pan at Kensington Gardens is an amazing spectacle. The production had sinister and dark undertones, with a tinge erotica. That is probably why I loved it so. Peter Pan was topless during the entire performance, Tinker Bell was a covetous punk rock fairy and I found Tiger Lily extremely libidinous.

The last performance in Kensington was on Sunday night. Thankfully due to its profound success, Peter Pan will be returning to Meridian Gardens at the o2 this  December until January 2010. The outdoor, 360 degree tent is an intimate setting, allowing the entire audience to be consumed by the production.

My London Tours and Darkaeon have some nice pictures, which I didn’t get the chance to take.

I checked the Visit London website and found out that William Dudley was the costume designer along with Marjorie Bailey. With over forty years experience in design, Dudley’s talent is evident. I found the disheveled effect of the costumes ever so empyreal as they didn’t have the polished finish I expected to see.

Obviously the costumes made me ponder. The result: a ballerina dress and grey leggings, plain white t-shirt and military boots. All I need are some fairy lights for accessories.

Total Urban Hawtness

What made me even more joyful was the fact that I own a green parker in the same shade as the one above. I bought it a while ago from H & M but never really knew what to wear it with until a couple of months ago. This collection reaffirmed what I had been thinking. Layering and with crisp neutral shades.

What I love about this label is that the designers have no formal training, just sheer passion for what they do. Something I can relate to.

Deconstructed dress which I practically live in, navy long cardigan, belt made out of a handbag strap and fabric from a sabotaged wrap dress, grey school socks, ridiculously high brown wooden and suede sandals (Kurt Geiger £59, the ultimate bargain of my entire life) and the parker.

A rag and bone man is a term that describes someone who collected other peoples junk. Funnily enough, there used to be such a man when I lived at my pervious home. He used to ride through the alleyways, collecting old washing machines, fridges and kettles, you name it, he took it. Who knew he would be so über chic in 2009?

The Basterds

I watched Inglorious Basterds this week and Christoph Waltz has to win the Oscar for Best Actor with his performance of Hans Landa. Smuggly evil yet eloquent, his portrayal of Tarantino’s Jew Hunting Standartenfuhrer is one of the best characters I have ever seen. His ability to speak English, French, German and even Italian fluently as one character is awe inspiring. To be able to act on top of that, well, just give him the Oscar, please.

During the film, I realised I possess a few Inglorious-esq pieces of attire. I am obsessed with the clothing from the World War period…I have no idea why. Anna B. Sheppard was the costume designer of the film and I have been besotted with her work without knowing it belonged to her.

She has worked on Schindler’s List, The Pianist, Hannibal Rising and my favourite, Band of Brothers. Spotify the soundtracks, even though they are emotional, they are truly amazing pieces of scoring. Michael Nyman and Michael Kamen- Geniuses.

I am a Russian Solider

I looked like this during the snows of the past winter. My military boots are from French Connection and I was inspired to buy them because of the cute punk rock girl in Blink 182′s Always video. They are amazing and have zips down the side. My military coat is from Zara and my lovely Russian hat is from Oxfam, which cost £1.50. It is falling apart slightly, but that adds to the charm.

My vintage Ralph Lauren skirt is from Oxfam off Kings Road, my khaki green two-tone shirt is from St Christopher’s Hospice and my aviator leather jacket is from Zara. I love the shirt because it is over sized and puffs out a little. I am not a shoulder pad fan but the jacket achieves the same effect with the leather and metal popper detail.

I took the photos by the side of my house. I like the brick work as it suits the hard-wearing look and feel of the clothing. I am thinking that I need some military badges or something to embellish my coats with.

My inspiration spawned though my love from Band of Brothers.

I cannot even begin to explain how awesome this mini series, so I won’t even bother trying.

I don’t agree with war in the slightest, however, I feel many people today have no idea what kind of hardships the elder generations have had to endure. Maybe if they did, there would be more respect in this country.

I don't endorse iPhones

I started working at a mobile phone store when I started a Masters in Electronic Publishing last year as I knew that the job paid well (commission hungry bastards). I am intrigued by the interesting people I have met on this random corner in the heart of London.

A gem carver from New Zealand spoke to me of his love for a Mauritian woman he had fallen head over heels for. I sold a contract to a young and bashful athlete named Chris Clarke and yesterday I spoke to a man who was going to Cuba to celebrate his 40th birthday. He told me that he is visiting India in December to attend the Marballabh mela in Jalandhar with his tabla teacher. He was carrying the drums with him; the catalyst of the whole conversation. He also told me that he wanted to travel and learn to play as many different types of hand drums from around the world.

It made me think about my own life and what I want to achieve.

I HATE iMovie

iMovie 2008 and 2009 are the biggest pieces of crap in the history of editing. Another reason added to my list of why I don’t like Apple! Aggggghhhhhh. I want to shoot the person who “updated” the old iMovie in the eyeball!

We walked around all the shops and to be honest I wasn’t really impressed. Maybe it is because I spend most of my time on town high streets looking for charity shops. The only shop I really wanted to visit was Kurt Geiger and it didn’t disappoint me at all!

They were £140 now down to £99 (still out of my price range). The snake skin print, woven detail on the front and tassels are so cute. Plus, they are grey and white! My cousin bought these sexy shoe boots in navy suede. I ♥ suede shoes.

I spent some time walking around the shops of Croydon and I saw two very nice things. A emerald green skirt from H & M which had no bleeding lining and was £20. I could actually make it myself. Then a moment of genius, I went to Past Times and found a peacock broach, which I have been looking for since forever. I was reluctant to purchase it, because even £16 seems like a lot of money for me these days. I may change may mind though because my mother likes it also.

Attacked by mother nature

I added a glum looking face as an accessory. I actually enjoyed running through the rain with soaking wet legs and feet. I wish I had a camera to take pictures of the large raindrops.

Infused Indie, Punk and Dance never sounded so good.

I love music videos that aren’t about girls dancing around a set so they can screw the artist after shooting has finished. It is an art form, which is being mutilated by many artists who don’t utilise the medium constructively.

Bloc Party’s music video reminds me of my childhood with my cousin, making up dances and using a home made Ouija board. The young girls outfit is so cute. Maybe because it consists of grey, rose pink and white. I am gay for these colours right now.

I also love the way the woman looks in the white dress. So simple, yet beautiful. It reminds me of a vintage Halston gown.

Hello Treacle

Don’t get me wrong, I love a good print. The more vivacious the better, sometimes. Other times, I love the strength of a plain coloured silhouette. When I heard that the Halston fashion house was being revived, I was so overjoyed. Long have I starred at the green vintage ensemble at the V & A fashion collection.

The prettiest costume by far

I went to the Notting Hill Carnival yesterday and I got a little tipsy to say the least. But I still managed to take this picture of this amazing costume. It is a pity the lady looks like she has a cat up her arse! She looks amazing, she should smile. Charming coming from me.

Here is a short video I took. Everyone was drunk and dancing around. It was an awesome day. My foot got trodden on a million times, I had to go toilet in people houses for a £1 charge (I had to even pee by a tree in a housing estate at one point), being crushed under peoples armpits and nearly ripping off my thumbnail I can still say I love carnival

There is no other country on this earth, not even the original Carnival in Rio, Brazil, where you will find such a plethora of people from a multitude of nationalities congregating in one area.I heard a float playing Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit.” I even saw an Asian lady in a sari standing on the stairs of a house (she might have been lost, I am not sure).

Nevertheless, all the people who say, “I won’t go to carnival, it is too dangerous,” are wrong. You can spot a trouble maker a mile away, just step out their way. London is the most exciting city in the world and I have wasted too long not enjoying it. London reminds me of the Daft Punk song “Around the World.” I have many friends who have grown up in different countries and speak different languages, it is this amalgamation of culture and hertiage that allows us to be better people. To have empathy for others and to understand the dynamics of different cultures.
